Bookham Colts Falcons U12’s – Pretty Muddy Run

Bookham Colts Falcons U12’s took to the running field this week when the football team and close family members entered the Race for Life Pretty Muddy Kids Challenge. The annual event takes place at Stoke Park, Guildford and offers the chance for boys and girls up to 12 years old to take on a muddy obstacle course set out over 5 km. With plenty of mud tankered in specially for the event the kids were able to get down and dirty while taking on some military style obstacles including mud pits, cargo netting, tunnels and a huge mud slide at the finish. After a couple of weeks of hard fundraising the team managed to raise a staggering £2500 for Cancer Research, a cause close to the hearts of the group, with many of the boys running for parents, grandparents and friends affected by Cancer. Coach Mark Ransom was over the moon with the attitude of the boys to help fundraise and their willingness to get stuck into the challenge, “it is definitely something we will try to do each year even if we are now too old for this particular event, I am really proud of them all”.

We are the youth section of Bookham Football Club, based in Bookham, near
Leatherhead in Surrey. We provide youth football for 29 teams within the
age range of under 6’s to under 18’s.

Bookham FC was set up prior to the 1914-18 war, when it was known as the
“Bookham Blues” but it was not until 1921 that the club became affiliated to
the Surrey FA.

The Colts is primarily run by an army of devoted parents, with help from
professional coaches. We have now gained FA Charter Standard, which
ensures that the club is well structured and offers our players an environment
where they can progress and enjoy their football.

Our teams play in the Epsom & Ewell Youth Football League, Surrey Primary
League and the Surrey Youth League.
