Bookham Colts Falcons U12’s – Pretty Muddy Run

Bookham Colts Falcons U12’s took to the running field this week when the football team and close family members entered the Race for Life Pretty Muddy Kids Challenge. The annual event takes place at Stoke Park, Guildford and offers the chance for boys and girls up to 12 years old to take on a muddy obstacle course set out over 5 km. With plenty of mud tankered in specially for the event the kids were able to get down and dirty while taking on some military style obstacles including mud pits, cargo netting, tunnels and a huge mud slide at the finish. After a couple of weeks of hard fundraising the team managed to raise a staggering £2500 for Cancer Research, a cause close to the hearts of the group, with many of the boys running for parents, grandparents and friends affected by Cancer. Coach Mark Ransom was over the moon with the attitude of the boys to help fundraise and their willingness to get stuck into the challenge, “it is definitely something we will try to do each year even if we are now too old for this particular event, I am really proud of them all”.
