A F C Ewell v Bookham Colts Falcons

Just a brief summary this week folks for those that were not present today.

The Falcons were back to play a team we met in our first away game at under 8s on poppy day, there were a few veterans of that match where we all discovered that skins were the way forward! A tight match in the freezing rain seeing Ewell edge the then Barbarians out 2-1.

Captain Dan started with his new gloves (damp?yes i did watch it tooEmoji) and they certainly worked well with plenty of saves to be made, so much so that a few of the Ewell parents i know made their way over at half time to say how good the Bookham keeper was. Both teams passing very well with Will battling on bravely with his hacking cough and red face making good progress down the right. The first half had finished 3-1 to Ewell but the home team took a shot after the whistle was blown, only for the ref to back track and give the goal anyway? Oh well ,we were all 16 once !

Second half the game played out the same way with Ewell quicker to pass and overloading our defence time after time. That said the boys battled on with Harley and Owen adding to Roberto’s first half strike. Subs Will ,Sam and Jake celebrating the goals in style on the touch line and clearly enjoying themselves! Final score i think 6-3? 5-3 if you take away the controversial half time goal. They all seemed very happy at the end to have a run out in the winter sun and with only 5 more 7 aside league matches left this season the Falcons look forward to hosting A F C Dara at home next week.Well done to all.
